Alexia Tomato Dipping Sauce
Alexia Tomato Sauce is an American favorite and fine accompaniment to ALEXIA Organic Oven Crinkles.
Makes 2½ cups of spicy sauce
Ingredients
- 28 oz. Canned Italian Whole Tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
- ¼ cup Dry White Wine
- 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 Small Onion, diced fine
- 2 medium Garlic Cloves, chopped fine
- 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh Basil
- 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh
- Parsley
- Salt and Black Pepper to taste
Preparation
- Puree Tomatoes (preferably through food mill).
- Saute chopped Garlic and Onions in a medium saucepot in the Olive Oil until golden brown. Add the White Wine and cook for 3 minutes
- Add the Tomatoes and the Tomato Paste and simmer the sauce for 20 to 30 minutes or to the desired consistency. Add the Basil and Parsley
- Add Salt and Pepper to taste
For a unique and delicious hor-d’oeuvre or appetizer idea, serve warm with Alexia Oven Fries or Alexia Oven Reds.
