Alexia Tomato Dipping Sauce

Alexia Tomato Sauce is an American favorite and fine accompaniment to ALEXIA Organic Oven Crinkles.

Makes 2½ cups of spicy sauce

Ingredients

  • 28 oz. Canned Italian Whole Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • ¼ cup Dry White Wine
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Small Onion, diced fine
  • 2 medium Garlic Cloves, chopped fine
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh Basil
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped Fresh
  • Parsley
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Puree Tomatoes (preferably through food mill).
  2. Saute chopped Garlic and Onions in a medium saucepot in the Olive Oil until golden brown. Add the White Wine and cook for 3 minutes
  3. Add the Tomatoes and the Tomato Paste and simmer the sauce for 20 to 30 minutes or to the desired consistency. Add the Basil and Parsley
  4. Add Salt and Pepper to taste

For a unique and delicious hor-d’oeuvre or appetizer idea, serve warm with Alexia Oven Fries or Alexia Oven Reds.
