NEW YORK, NY – January 18, 2004) – ALEXIA Foods, Inc., the top selling brand of frozen potatoes in the natural and specialty foods market, launched its first set of USDA certified Organic products today at the 2004 Winter Fancy Food Show. The three new flavors are: Oven Crinkles Classic with Sea Salt (Low Sodium); Oven Crinkles Salt & Pepper; Oven Crinkles Onion & Garlic.

These new Organic products reflect ALEXIA’s commitment to deliver unrivaled flavor while remaining consistent with today’s healthier lifestyles. As with the existing line of eight ALEXIA frozen potatoes, the new Organic items are cooked without hydrogenated oils. This ensures that there are no Trans Fatty acids. Trans fats have recently been identified as one of the worst contributors to heart disease. The Organics have no saturated fat and only 4 grams of fat per 3 oz. serving. The Organic Oven Crinkles with Sea Salt are even classified as "Low Sodium," with only 140 mg of sodium per serving. All three products are Kosher Pareve.

To be certified as Organic by the USDA a product must be produced without using most conventional pesticides; fertilizers made with synthetic ingredients or sewage sludge; bioengineering; or ionizing radiation.
