Dear Valued Customers,
At Alexia Foods our top priority is ensuring that our consumers enjoy safe, high quality products. We recently learned that a very limited number of packages of our Alexia - Olive Oil, Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Pesto Oven Reds (frozen seasoned potato wedges) produced by a third party manufacturer were inadvertently packaged with labeling that does not declare an allergen (pine nuts) in the product. Although the potential for any consumer health risk is very small as the incidence rate of pine nut allergies in the general population is very low, we have taken the precautionary measure of notifying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are voluntarily recalling the specific product shown below. In addition to working in cooperation with the FDA, the company is issuing a news release and an alert through the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) in an effort to notify any potentially affected consumers.
This voluntary recall is limited to only packages of Alexia - Olive Oil, Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Pesto Oven Reds bearing the following Sell By dates (shown below) printed on the upper left back panel of the poly package with the UPC # 34183 00108. No other Alexia frozen or shelf stable products are affected.
